How about we start having a tentative look at that trip to Albany some of us were talking about a while ago?
Just to see when people have time to go; I think we would need a minimum of four days, but up to a week would still be feasible... It's only four hours drive in decent cars (that would be a VERY low estimate for many of us)
Anyone having been down to the waterspouts there knows "Trials Heaven"!
I would probably be able to go somewhere between Thursday, April 17th to Monday, April 28th.
Just post possible (or impossible) dates.

better be good for 4hrs drive!!!? Um, what exactly is there to ride, and what's the general idea for other details eg accomodation?? On other things; Brad, do you have contact details for that 2nd hand bike and also some specs on it? Cheers.
Anyway, was great to finally catch up with you guys again, hopefully I'll be able to regain lost ground more quickly.
Dave.

Hey Dave, the guy who is selling it is Shannon Jeffs. His Mobile # is 0414 333 826. He's out bush some where at the moment. Now he was selling it ages ago, I don't know what he's done with it but give him a ring.
The bike itself is a 13" Specialised Rockhopper. It has some nice chromo forks on it. Magura HS33's for stopping, Arzonic Bars, CNC'd stem, platform pedals. The rest of the bike is a bit of a spare parts through together, but it is all good.

Brad there are heaps of excellent spots I've scoped there to, I got a mate who lives down there that I go see every 3 months, see if we might be able to stay at his place, I know a few other guys down there as well.
There is an excellent spot over at the esplanard(and a good bar too), you' be blown away if you saw some of the mountains south at Cheeynes Beach big rock riding area. Also the skate parks got a few good stunts
I would be ok for the fours days of the easter break but I have to be at work the days either side as my Manager is on leave.

Just stickeyed so it doesn't get lost in the jumble of other posts.
Dave: yeah, it's a long drive, but it's also a helluva nice place and a good chance to get away. Easter break might be a good idea as luke suggested; prolly most people free then.
Brad, do you have any form of a schedule yet?

This is getting a bit closer now. It is now only 2 or 3 weeks away, and hopefully people know what they are doing by now.
I am keen to go, I wont have a new bike by then but I will be able to afford to go. Hopefully you have your new bike by then Robin.
For those that don't know, Easter is on the 18, 19, 20, and 21 of April which is now only 3 weeks away. So we should start planning thing about now.
Luke do want to check if it is ok to crash at your mates place??
We should organise transport as well. My van has had some work done to it so it should be ok. Must replace some hoses on it before then, but I will be able to take atleast one possibly two people and bikes. Probably only take trials bikes on this trip. could those who also are willing to drive down please let us know and those that will need a lift leave a message or get hold of my self or Robin in the next week or two. Try not to leave it to the death nock.
Would be worth our while getting hold of Trick cause he has his van, but no lisence, so some one will need to drive it.
So if we organise to leave first thing Friday morning and get back monday afternoon that should fit in with everyones work and study plans.

Depending on how many bikes we have to take, we might be able to use moms car for a trailer. Else, I can take five people plus three bikes (at least) on the corolla. Keep in mind it's a fairly large trip, so it would be worth trying to get the more fuel-efficient cars...
Consider even leaving on Thursday the 17th just to get an extra full-day in.

Great guys things sound good, could people please let me know if they are coming, I will do a ring around monday. I need to give solid numbers so I can see if it's ok if we stay at keiths place. Brad and Robin I have oked but need to know numbers. We be doing the tent city thing in th back yard. Also it will be a wild time as after a good days ride we can party by downing some goon( only $10.00 a cask) and hit the pub clubs(walking distance) and have a ball. Heaps of wild spots for trials(blow holes park, whaling station, excellent rocks at beaches) and theres always heaps of chicks out on friday/ saturday for all the studs

Not sure about the leaving thursday thing. At the moment it is ok with me but I may end up with work on that day before I know it. Could any one else that interested in leaving thursday post to let us know if it is a fessable thing to do.
Looks as though at the moment its only going to be Luke, Robin and myself. We're the only ones to express any interest. I don't mind it being only us. The more fun for us, and the less competition to pick up the drunk Albany girls ;D

OK has every one been told, if i can get all applicable phone numbers for those that may not have been asked yet or dont use this site too much. At this point 5 would be excellent as that would be fine for keiths place. More is fine but may need to re ask if numbers get heaps bigger. Are the poles confirmed yet? I would be keen to leave thursday night if possible then we get the full friday, sat and sun, leave monday

Should let you know, Luke. I think we can expect more than five people; Daniel is keen too, and you never know who else shows up. Also, Kuba and Pieter are considering taking their girls along. I don't see any problem with that personally. They do realise that this means they would have to spend some time taking care of them , but they think the girls would keep each other busy as well... Tell your friend all we'll need is a garden where we can dump a few tents. We can take care of ourselves just fine. Thanks for your help Luke. Sounds like yer as keen as me! oh, and if we leave thursday it'll be as early as possible to try and limit night-time driving. (Albany hwy at night is HORRIBLE). I think people get off early on thursday cuz of easter don't they? Did you get a hold of Dave?

I'm fine with leaving thurs. I can sleep in my van.
Luke, do you want to come in my van?? One of the Poles can possibly drive tricks van down (I'm assuming you still don't have your liscence trick??) and the other can prob go in your car robin, with corresponding girls in tow. One us in the vans could prob pick Daniel up on the way down if need be.

Ya brad, if I could contibute to your fuel costs then it would be good if I could catch a ride with you and my bike as well.
OK people that look like going
Me, Robin,Brad, trick, daniel, kuba, pieter, kuba girlf, pieter girlf ??
Lets alow for maybe two more, I need to give as close to numbers as I can.
I have two other mates in Albany as well but I didn't visit them when I was down there 2 months ago so there a bit pissed at me. Keiths girlfriend is a local so she knows most of the local crew so might be able to sort something if we get real big numbers, just that it may get a bit big for one place as he his brother and mum live there as well. But should be cool. See how it goes. SHould be no hassels
