I spoke to mark quite a bit before the show and he said that any Friday we wanted we could leave the stuff there and come down and session at Zanzi. I know we had some major issues with the BMXer's but I think it would be great to have an indoor hangout with good tunes, free drinks and a faily good crowd any time we want to session on a Fridau night. Actually it sounds like a dream come true. However I think most will agree that we would need to formalise a few thinks so nothing ecalates to fights. I think a few key things
- as it's just BMX's and Trials guys " sessioning" ya can't really get to silly with rules, but I think maybe they could have a little more respect for the area we where trying to ride, maybe a tiny bit of taping and spectators can still stand on the stairs and around the area, I'm sure that would be in the best interest of zanzi to avoid patrons getting hurt and sueing
- On the other side, it's really dangerous for anyone doing trials to fall onto the ramp when a BMx is transitioning down, could cause serious injury so we have to setup so that there would be no possibility this would happen. As I think they had good reason to be pissed maybe.
- Tape areas early so people dont have to be asked to move as if you dont end up with some looser just looking for a fight not moving just for rthe sake of starting a fight.
I think it was great and if it still ok I would like to turn up on a regular basis, really gets the confidence going and is good practise.
Could people post their throughs as I would really like to maybe make this a done thing on Fridays for those able to attend.
I dont know mark feelings on this after what happened but maybe we could smooth things out a bit and still make this a go'er

-i don't really see the point in riding friday night and on saturday/sunday, seems a bit much -i'd rather have a evening meet during the week -zanzi will get boring quick, well i was bored after 10 minutes- due to limited space - i reckon we should develop The Lot's potential for A Lot more stuff to ride on, given the huge area. -maybe a pallet fortress like we had at the superdome (going back too far for most to remember) -the superdome was a good setup, similar to what you're suggesting as a weekly night venue but with heaps of room -should get a bbq at The Lot like dave suggested -how long do we have The Lot for, Robin?? -maybe the lot could be our weekly meet plus the usual weekend ride. -can't ride there at night though...... -where are us riders from? maybe a cheap leased warehouse- there is one around the corner from me, but it ain't gonna be cheap on newcastle st, northbridge.

Neil's showing what a veteran he is . I'd have to agree. Friday night isnt good for a number of us, and the novelty of riding indoors wore off pretty quick. Now, to earn points and lose friends , I've hinted at developing the lot a bit more before. We all seemed to have a good time the previous w/end b4 we moved the stuff. If we're not limited to the amount of stuff we can put there then lets get collecting. I'm not sick of pallets, and there isnt anything that compares to their versatility and PRICE. G&F Beltlines should have spare cable spools, a large used earthmover tyre could be had for almost nothing, we could obtain/purchase some large limestone blocks, and SimsMetal might drop off a carbody or something. I'm sure you more experienced fellas have more/better ideas, so lets do something. I feel enthusiasm is waning a little (I can understand as some of you have been doing this for some time), but I reckon we can make it more exciting and concentrate on how much FUN trials can be. Roll on progression

Good point dave, I think I get excited about zanzi as I haven't really been riding trials for a very long time so I haven't experienced better stuff like neil was pointing out.
I know a place where the are lots of used haul pack tyers you know how big they are. Car sounds great but what are the restrictions on " The Lot".
I also agree dave with getting more gear and I am keen. Unfortunately Im really pressed for cash at the moment getting a new car but come next January I will have a good amount to spend on developing some gear.
Maybe we could brain storm some ideas for locations or places people might like us to demo that would also be good riding spots.
I think it would be hard to find a good regular indoor riding area we can leavev stuff in though than Zanzi or is there ??

Sure, developing the Lot is always a good option; with the amount of land we have there we could built trials heaven if we wanted to.
Just PLEASE keep in mind that IT'S NOT OUR LAND, and we've been very generously allowed to use it by Mr Holt. I'm all for bringing more gear in and building, provided that occasionally we hold a decent cleanup, or at least maintain it somewhat when we're there (ie all unused material in one area as we had before). I think another full day session would be great, but I'm not setting anything untill at least end september after I finish exams. You guys keen on doing something at the Lot then? We'll do another bbq/socializing session.
One thing I am somewhat conscious of is the idea that if we really pile gear up there, all it would take is one drunk nutcase to throw a burning stick over the fence and have it all go up. Just keep thing separated to some extend and away from the fence.
Also remember that part of the deal with the Lot is that if anything happens, Holt doesn't know us and we basically invaded the area...
I don't think the mototrials boys would mind one bit if we kept those big cable reels as they have heaps. Will ask Brad to check with them.

Luke, no need to spend a lot of $, besides, I have bugger all $ to put in, so it wouldnt be fair anyway. The operative word is 'scavenge' . Prob why I am eyeing discarded whitegoods (fridges etc) in a funny way. Well, after Marcus' last straw, I kinda wish we had laid into those thingyheads. Katie (my g/f, like you'd ever forget her ) said they were on the train with them on the way there, and even b4 anything happened she was saying they were being real abusive etc on the train.

Dave, do you realise that my little brother now has to use the heavy hammer to build his chukpen with his friends? You are a horrible, horrible person...

Dave, although it would be the most stupid act to do, I wouldn't have minded giving the cheeky f**kfaced snots a good hiding, problem when you have two cultural groups that dont mix.
On one hand you have a bunch of guys that have no future no real life, just hang around and ride all day and never grow out of the " hey high school is real life" stage.
Then you have trials guys that have a whole lot more going on and who have ambitions in life and dont mind being labeled a bit geekish(ok maybe I only speak for myself and robin there)
For example, when asked to move politely by robin the other night, they act like a bloody 10 year old and throw down the old " f**k authority" try hard deal and just grunt and dont move. Somehow they think they have a god given right to just do what ever they like.
They think that any disagreement gives them the automatic right to fight. I think they are intimidated by a group that actually seem to have something in their life apart from donkey masturbation
Some of them where ok and I certainly would not throw the label at all BMXers but some of those those guys where just losers full stop
I mean come on that dog poo that happened to Marcus was just plain bulldog poo and it was one or more of those BMXers as no spectators went near or behind our bikes as I was keeping a careful eye on my wallet. But to be honest I was only watching for "non show" guys having a sneak around, didn't really expect it from guys that where there to preform to.
Any way if we do go to Zanzi again I dont have any preform ideas I'll just play it cool not agro

yeah, fighting is not really a good idea, just I was really peeved that night. BMXers are not all doodleheads, but it does seem to attract a few more than normal (also observed from years spent around sk8parks). I'm just going to write the whole (non)event off as being badly let down by factors outside our control. Apart from the thieving - I'm sure we'd all like to take our frustrations out on them, no mercy

Ya I have two mates that would be interested in finding those dog poos. Smith and Wesson, might have heard of them, dont think two many people would want to mess with them.
